Why volunteer with us?
We know you’ll want to make a real difference when you volunteer but it’s not just about what you can do for others. Volunteers get a lot out of the experience too.
Give a little, gain a lot
Volunteering can help you to make new friends, enhance your CV, learn new skills and improve your confidence.
As Wales’ leading first aid charity, we’re a great organisation to be involved with if you want to pursue a career in health or social care too.
What we do
Every day our volunteers help keep local communities across Wales safe. We have lots of opportunities so you can gain experience volunteering at local, national or even international events.
Find the right role
You don’t need to have any previous first aid experience to volunteer with us.
Adult volunteers need to be over 18 years old but if you’re not over 18 yet, don’t worry, you can visit our young people section to find out about opportunities for you.
Volunteer roles are flexible with hours to suit you. Whether you have family commitments, work full-time, you’re retired or currently unemployed, we have a role for everyone at St John Cymru Wales.
What you’ll get in return
Volunteering is a fantastic way to connect with your community. We’ll teach you first aid (whatever role you’ve signed up for) and provide you with equipment and uniform if required.
We’ll make sure you get the training and support you need.
Studying at university
Our student societies are also known as LINKS groups. They are run by students and designed to fit around studying and other commitments. We currently have LINKS in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Cardiff Metropolitan and Swansea universities.
If you’d like to volunteer with us, simply fill in the registration form at www.sjaw.org.uk/register and find your local division. A member of the team will be in touch within 10 working days.
